If Pizza wasn’t already good enough, imagine pairing it with a 2 minute stroll down to Glenelg Jetty, picking a spot on the grass in or sitting on the sand with a piping hot, delicious pizza.

If you haven’t heard the news, the brand new Doughballs Pizza Restaurant in Moseley Square is open, and ready to feed you. Doughballs has graced Moseley Square Glenelg with its first ever store and we have checked it out, (twice might I add)

I’m lucky enough to work literally around the corner from this brand spankin’ new go-to pizza place in Glenelg and when I found out they were opening I couldn’t contain my excitement.

The owners and staff are super passionate about providing fresh and high quality food, and if you visit, you’ll be able to see for yourself.

With both indoor and outdoor seating, no matter what the weather is they have you covered. Also, they do a pretty hard to resist deal every Monday to Wednesday of $10 pizzas. $10!! INSANE.

I’ve been here twice now, first time I came in for lunch and got myself the Rustichella, which is topped with crispy pancetta, Rocket, Sundried Tomatoes, Parmesan Cheese, and Caesar Dressing and believe me, this combo is something that I never knew I needed in my life but here we are, and I need it every single day.

Doughballs has also recently started their new Brunch menu – so the second time I came here I was excited to try it. As usual; I saw Baked Eggs and I ordered Baked Eggs. A delicious dish, with a bit of a difference to most of the baked eggs I’ve tried. Usually you would get a tomato based sauce, but this was more of a spinach based dish (And I love spinach!) the dish comes with 2 perfectly cooked eggs, cheese, and bursting cherry tomatoes. It comes with a side of breadsticks and it’s a perfectly heart-warming dish.

We also tried the Breakfast Pizza, a perfectly runny egg, chorizo, bacon, mushrooms delicious melted cheese and their perfect pizza base sauce.

We were definitely too full but, who can resist a serving of their Cinnamon Swirl Doughballs, filled with delicious vanilla, Cinnamon and sultanas and served with a dusting of icing sugar and vanilla dip, honestly, in winter time – I could easily polish off an entire bucket of these myself. Granted I would feel really sick but I don’t even care. NO regrets.

A couple of extra things to mention which really made our visit even better is the customer service. Everyone we encountered was just so friendly and helpful, the food came out super quickly and everything was just perfect. Also, if you sit outside or on the balcony – you have the most perfect view of the square and the beach, and it’s basically the most blissful you could feel while eating pizza.

If you’re the kind of person who LOVES pizza but is trying to be cautious about their pizza intake, you could opt for the Pizza Lite. Which is a lower calorie range of pizzas, this pizza is the same size as your usual but with a big ol hole in the middle cut out and topped with healthy salad! I mean, it’s a compromise.

There is also options for pasta or salad if you’re not feeling a pizza, so they have you covered for everything.

This is going to be a hot spot, and supporting local during this time is vital. Hope you all enjoy your visit as much as we did!

Andrea x
