Ah Nido, I had been meaning to visit here for such a long time and finally had the chance to visit! Firstly - let me give you a heads up, Nido is a small restaurant and is located very closely to another small restaurant, (they are joined) and the sign for Nido even though it might look like it is in-front of one restaurant, it's actually a little further back.... so.. not that it happened to me of course (lol no it did and it was super embarrassing) make sure you check when you're about to walk in what the door says. In case you end up in the wrong place repeating your name to the waitress who really doesn't want to talk to you because it seems pretty obvious you're in the wrong place... sorry. ANYWAY - Usually I am the type of person who checks the menu quite extensively before visiting so that I can decide what I want to try because I have issues and I like to dream about what I am going to have before I get there.. but their menu online changes quite frequently so I decided that for once in my life, I should just wait until I get there to decide, which obviously meant sitting there for ages trying to decide what we actually wanted and being super annoying to eat with because I am the most indecisive person ever. We wanted to try a starter and as usual, we look through instagram to see what looks good and what we should try - we found a char-grilled octopus dish that looked TO DIE FOR but we couldn't see it on the menu. Turns out it was a special and they still had it running - HELL YEAH. I am a big big fan of octopus and even more when its char-grilled. We ordered the octopus to start along with some of their bread (gnocco fritto) as recommended by the waitress.  A few things to mention here - the gnocco fritto bread, was, honestly THE BEST thing in the world. This beauty is similar texture to a donut, but so light and fluffy and so so hard to stop eating. We honestly nearly ordered another one just to snack on. It was incredible. The char-grilled octopus was full of flavour and cooked perfectly, not chewy or over-done at all. Starters were a massive win. tick!

Now onto my main, oh baby. I ordered the spaghetti vongole which had muscles, fennel soffritto, pancetta and pangrattato. A delicious and absoutely fantastic dish. This spaghetti was full of flavour with the added crispy texture of the bread crumbs (pangrattato) all the flavours of this dish paired perfectly and complemented each other just how you would like them, the pasta itself was cooked perfectly, not under or overdone but exactly right. The only problem for me was that I was already half full after the entree but I couldn't stop myself finshing the pasta, because I have an eating problem.. but it was another winner of a dish that I would recommend getting if you visit.  Over-all my experience at Nido was fantastic. All of the food was full of flavour, fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the space is a perfect spot to go for an intimate dinner with someone. If you haven't been yet I would highly recommend you visit asap! Andrea x
