Samurai Teppanyaki House has been on my list to go and visit for a long time, but we were saving it for a special occasion. I am someone who is absolutely obsessed with both Japanese food and Japan in general, so being able to experience this dinner was such an incredible night for me.

We arrived and were greeted by some very friendly and lovely staff, and were seated right infront of the Iron griddle where all our amazing dishes would be created.

Picking a banquet on their menu was a tough choice, as there are many different and wonderful options but we settled with the White Tiger Banquet. This included a soba noodle salad (with the option to add tempura), Ocean Barramundi, Moreton Bay Bugs and an AUS Wagyu Porterhouse. Along with a miso soup & some veggie fried rice and ice cream for dessert.

Our amazing chef for the night was Allen, and we were so excited to start our meal.

We started with a refreshing Soba noodle, and I added a side of tempura soft shell crab, was full of flavour. I am a big fan of soft shell crab and this dish was the perfect way to start out meal. Next up was the Ocean Barramundi. The Barramundi was cooked to absolute perfection, soft and juicy and basically melting in my mouth. I don’t eat a lot of fish usually because it can be hit and miss but this was so fresh It left me wanting more. Moreton Bay Bug was up now – something I have actually never tried before so I was incredibly excited for this dish as I know many people love these bugs! Served with a cream sake sauce, this dish was one of the highlights of the night for me. The flavour and freshness packed into this dish was beyond words and I almost wanted to lick the plate clean from the delicious cream sake sauce.

The AUS Wagyu porterhouse was literally on fire. ON FIRE! It was so exciting to watch Allen cook our steak and then BAM, flames. The steak was cooked perfectly (Theme of the blog, everything was cooked perfectly okay) medium rare, basically melting in your mouth, it came with a side of sauces and it complemented it perfectly.

We finished up with a miso soup and a fried rice – both of which I loved. I am a big fan of MISO soup and I forgot we had that as part of our banquet so when the soup came out I was super excited. I know that sounds weird to say because of all the other amazing meals I had but I just love miso soup.
